1LT Robert Ortt was born and raised in Western New York. A graduate of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute and Canisius College, Ortt has a BA in political science. Currently an elected official in WNY as well as a 1LT with the 2/101 CAV, 27 BCT, NYARNG out of Buffalo, NY, Ortt enlisted in October 2001, in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks. In April 2004 he was commissioned a 2LT and is currently stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC preparing to deploy to Afghanistan.
